Network Marketer (MLM) VS Affiliate Marketer

 

I never thought I would have to write a post like this but I am seeing lazier than lazy people joining affiliate programs over the large scale Network Marketing businesses. What concerns me is that this vast concentration on affiliate marketing is changing the behavior of entrepreneurs but they are failing to make money because they expect NOT to speak to anyone and only market their affiliate programs.

100% commission programs are driving this lazy behavior and the result is that most people will never make a dime in their affiliate program because they lack the work ethic to build a business.

Affiliate Marketers lack marketing skills, especially on the internet.  Spamming Facebook and Twitter is not marketing especially when you see how many different people post the same affiliate programs or those “Next Best Thing” to come online where you can make a 7 digit income. What makes your link more important than the next person that is posting the same link?

To be successful in affiliate marketing there are 3 factors that will dictate your success.

1. Marketing Techniques

2. A Website or Blog with High Traffic

3. A List that is Active

Yes you can make money in affiliate selling other peoples software or products but affiliate is one of the hardest businesses to make money in and the rate of people not making money is as higher than Network Marketing. Now this is not to say that you should not invest your time in affiliate marketing programs as I like them and use them myself but it will take lots of effort so you must be ready for this.

What about Network Marketers?

They want to make the big bucks but instead they fail to see that the “guru” online has already built a large network by working one network company to the next.  Most people in network marketing never bothered to learn any marketing online or offline.  This is why 97% of network marketers never make any real money and that number is not any better for affiliate marketers.

There is now a new niche known as the Affiliate Marketers and they are taking over the internet and some people have turned this niche in a Spam war on social sites..

Here is the reality…affiliate programs will never make you wealthy and neither will any network marketing company if you do not know how to market online or offline.  Here is where things get interesting; Affiliate marketing is supposed to be used as your supplemental or second stream of income and not your main income.  Your network marketing company should be your main source of income (if you are not working) because this is where you have the power to make all your money.  Why? Network marketing companies are setup to market to larger demographics where affiliate programs are setup to market to a specific niche.  Now even if your network marketing business is tied to a specific niche it was formulated to resolve a major problem or create pleasure…I have to take a breath here….not all network marketing companies are built to last.

To be successful in network marketing there are some simple steps that need to be taken. (See my Network Marketing 101) for more detail but in short;  work your company’s funnel program, speak to people about your business and learn to market both online and offline.

Conclusion

Spamming Facebook and Twitter is never going to Brand you as a leader therefore no one is going to click your link and join your affiliate program or your network marketing business.  Instead they may get annoyed and block you and then your efforts are useless. If your affiliate has an auto bill or your network marketing has an auto ship, this means that you need to learn to drive traffic to your links heavily by branding yourself as a leader and a person of knowledge.  If you fail to do any of these little steps, you will not just fail, you will end up giving up and feel like it was not meant to be…but in reality…You just did not know the truth until now.
